    Taking a selfie

    3. You think selfies are cool

When did selfies become cool all of a sudden? It used to be that taking pictures of yourself made you seem like a sort of “loser”. The common assumption would be that you’re taking a picture of yourself because you have nobody else to take a picture of you, at least if it’s only you in the selfie.

And come 2014 selfies are all the rage, and nobody feels embarrassed about posting them anymore. So be it. It’s probably for the better. Makes lonely people feel a lot better about themselves, and those who aren’t lonely lose nothing. But it’s certainly an interesting change.

Well said. I don’t like the connotation of stalking as well. People post things publicly, it’s fair game, anyone can read it.
