ANAC Number

An ANAC number is a telephone number that plays back the number of the telephone that called it. ANAC numbers are convenient if you want to know the telephone number of a pair of wires.

ANAC stands for Automatic Number Announcement Circuit.

What is the ANAC number for my area?

To find your ANAC number, look up your NPA (Area Code) and try the number listed for it. If that fails, try 1 plus the number listed for it. If that fails, try the common numbers like 311, 958 and 200-222-2222. If you find the ANAC number for your area, please let us know.

Note that many times the ANAC number will vary for different switches in the same city. The geographic naming on the list is NOT intended to be an accurate reference for coverage patterns, it is for convenience only.

    +1-613-320- is not currently a test number; the numbers you list as “identify calling number” *used* to work in Kingston ON several years ago, but http://cnac.ca/data/ac613.htm indicated this prefix as “being recovered for re-use” and now shows

    Maitland is a small village on the north shore of the St. Lawrence Seaway, between Brockville ON-Morristown NY and Prescott ON-Ogdensburg NY. The company listed is a CLEC and is likely using the numbers as a destination to forward ported numbers from ILEC Bell Canada. Maitland’s calling area is a subset of Brockville’s and not particularly valuable for calling outside Brockville/Prescott.
