Audiovox CDM-9200x

The Audiovox CDM-9200x is a clamshell phone that was released in early 2002. While it was dubbed a full featured and advanced cell phone in its day, it is now simply a relic of the past. Its archaic features are simply pathetic compared to today’s modern phones. This device should really only be considered if you are in desperate need of a backup phone in case of emergencies.

Audiovox CDM-9200x

The Audiovox CDM-9200x is a dual band CDMA phone, so it can only be used in the United States and a few other parts of North America. Roaming is supported via the AMPS analog network, though that is now defunct. Data is transmitted via the CDMA2000 network.

One of the strongest features of the Audiovox CDM-9200x at the time was the dual LCD feature. One located on the front, and a main screen located inside the phone. Both screens are black and white. The outer LCD is capable of displaying two lines of text while the inner screen is capable of displaying a maximum of seven lines of text.

Other features found in the Audiovox CDM-9200x include the ability to browse the internet, T9 predictive text input, voice calling, and two way short messaging service.

Overall

While the Audiovox CDM-9200x certainly packed impressive features at the time, those days are long gone. The Audiovox CDM-9200x is now simply a relic of the past and lacks support in a variety of areas. While it is a good backup phone if you have a carrier like Verizon or Sprint, the Audiovox CDM-9200x is not recommended for anyone else. Go with the free phone unless you are dying to own this device for posterity reasons.
