Nikon just released the D700 digital SLR camera. The D700 is in a different league altogether based upon the Nikon D3 professional dSLR, preaching pro-level performance and an added array of features and tweaks packed into it. It also comes with the Nikon-original FX-format CMOS sensor, Nikon’s EXPEED Image Processing System, Nikon’s 51-point auto focus system with 3D Focus Tracking and two Live View shooting modes. It also includes a Scene Recognition System as well as a dust reduction system.
The D700’s 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS image sensor provides exceptional image quality throughout its remarkable ISO sensitivity range. A large pixel size of 8.45 micrometers allows for an extremely low signal-to-noise ratio and a wide dynamic range. The 12-channel readout enables accelerated information transfer, allowing the D700 to shoot at speeds of up to eight frames per second at full resolution (using the optional MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack) and quickly write image data onto the CompactFlash card. The D700 offers a versatile base ISO range from 200-6400 but can be expanded to range from ISO 100 (Lo-1) to 25,600 (Hi-2) affording photographers the new-found confidence to shoot in the widest variety of lighting conditions from the brightest midday sun to dim interiors. Images previously thought to be impossible to create without complex lighting set-ups or lengthy post-processing are now captured easily and faithfully with the D700, unleashing new and diverse shooting possibilities.
the Nikon D700 retails for $2,999.95 without the lens

This portable camcorder is extremely user friendly and very effective. Infact, this is so user friendly that even older people can use it. It’s iPod like look makes it even easier for younger people.
another awaited feature is the Rapid Blog Manager software, which allows your videos to be easily uploaded to the Internet on sites like YouTube. All you need to do is connect it to a computer with the flip-out USB connector, and follow a simple, three-step process. This is almost the same technique used in the Casio EX-Z9 camera, don’t you think?
The user also has the option of connecting the DXG-567V to any plasma or HDTV so that the videos can be viewed on any old plasma TV.
Cost $179 in black, red, pink, and blue

The ZN5’s a phone that’s as more of a camera than a phone, with a 5-megapixel Kodak. This is quick-launched by a sliding lens cover much like the N73, and has a Xenon flash, auto-focus and even auto-stitches panorama shots. The phone also has CrystalTalk for high sound quality, Bluetooth, full browser and Wi-Fi (for photo transfers, and the web.) This should enter the major market later this year

Camcorder pens often sacrifice the whole “writing” thing in the name of capturing video, but this one from BrickHouse Security does write, and has considerably bigger storage capacity than the old video pens. Two hours of battery time per charge, 30 hours of audio and/or video (4GB), and at a nice price of $250.

The EX-Z9 camera has 8.1 megapixels of image resolution, and has a 3x optical zoom. This was released a few months back. The main feature of this beauty was that even with all the features, this simplicity in use was profound!
Perhaps a strongly competitive feature was the YouTube mode, in which videos could be taken in the YouTube format for direct upload in 3 simple steps.
The 2.6 inch LCD was perfect to get those special shots and the camera is so designed for the common man. There are 23 shot modes including fireworks and pets! Get it?
Other features include Anti Shake DST, Easy Mode and Face Recognition.
The Casio EX-Z9 retails for $159.99, and comes in pink, black, silver, and orange. I choose orange.

The mid range full frame D700 is rumored to be released on July 1st in London.
