Do you Smile at Work? You will Now!

Thursday, May 15th, 2008 | Posted in Toys | No Comments »

A lot of people work in a cubicle.  A small, stinky 8 foot by 8 foot with tall walls and boring colors.  I am not sure about how these people get through the day, but I know that if I can smile one or two times, my day is much easier.

If you are at work right now and need a reason to smile, try these little Plush Star Wars guys on for size.

Thinkgeek.com Star Wars

The SD Star Wars Plush from Thinkgeek.com is just the thing that should get a smile out of you every time you look at them.  When the boss is on your case about your TPS reports or the fact that you lingered in the break room a little too long today, take a look at these guys and you are sure to forget about work for a minute or two.

Quick Stats:
Darth Vader - approx. 7.5″ tall
Yoda - approx 7″ tall
Chewie - approx 7.5″ tall (with working bandolier pouch!)

If you can’t see something like this in your office or cubicle, get them for a friend.  The geeky Star Wars type would be all over this and appreciate that you accept their geeky-ness. :)

LeapFrog announces new console

leapster2
LeapFrog Enterprises have just dropped an announcement for a couple of new web-connected video game systems which are connected to the proprietary LeapFrog Learning Path. The Leapster2 Learning Game System is the latest addition to the Leapster family, further expanding gameplay online whilst enabling parents to check up on what their child is learning and sharing in their accomplishments. You will find that the online capabilities in the all-new Didj Custom Gaming System is able to hook up gameplay with schoolwork, enabling kids to pick and choose the game they like with spelling lists, math problems and more.

The Leapster2 system comes in a new form factor that is easy on the eye, featuring edutainment titles such as the exclusive educational game license for Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well as the summer 2008 Disney/Pixar blockbuster WALL E. The Leapster2 handheld will come with auto-levels that makes it able to adjust games to children’s particular skills and progress, providing just the right challenge. Since it features online connectivity as well, parents will be able to check up on their protege’s accomplishments to dish out the appropriate amount of encouragement. I wish parents will see my level 80 Warlock in World of Warcraft and be proud of it, but somehow they seem oblivious to such an “achievement” and instead criticize me for spending too much time in front of computer monitor.

The Slacker Portable Internet Radio

Slacker portable internet radio
The Slacker WiFi portable radio acts like a cross between your iPod and the radio , letting you access radio stations (or create personalized ones) over the internet, in addition to playing music that you already own. The neat thing is that the Slacker will buffer your radio stations on its HD, so you don’t have to be connected to the internet all the time in order to be listening to new music.

As you might expect, there is a monthly subscription cost to take full advantage of the radio service. The basic radio is free, but includes a ‘limited number’ of ads, and you can only skip 6 songs per hour. The price for premium radio is $7.50 a month, and for that, there are no ads, you can skip all the songs you want, and if you like something, you can save it from the radio onto your player. The player features 10 hour battery life, a 4″ screen, 802.11 b/g WiFi, and weighs 5 oz. A 2gb model (with 500mb for personal music, 1.5gb for radio music) will cost you $200, or you can get a 4gb (1.5gb personal music) for $250 and an 8gb (4gb personal music) for $300. Think before paying for it though

Wrong Number Generator

You would need the Wrong Number Generator when someone you know is trying to call a number, but you don’t want him or her to call that number. All you would have to do is install the Wrong Number Generator to the phone jack easily, and whatever number the user calls will automatically end up being the wrong number.

How it works? Please don’t ask me
911 will always dial correctly, and I believe that the Wrong Number Generator will allow 25% of calls to go through properly. In other words, the victim can’t say that they are experiencing a consistent defect of wrong numbers.
