Ethnically targetted VoIP Service

VoIP service is now being targetted based on race and ethnicity, news to us:

DigiLinea (www.DigiLinea.com), the leading Voice over IP (VoIP) service provider to the US Hispanic and Latin American markets, and Linksys, the leading provider of voice, wireless and networking solutions for the Home, Small Office and Small Business, have teamed to offer a bundled turnkey VoIP solution to the Latin American and US Hispanic markets. The DigiLinea and Linksys relationship will enable consumers and small businesses to purchase Linksys Phone Adapters (PAP2) that are pre-configured with the DigiLinea VoIP service assuring that starting to use your VoIP phone service is as easy as possible. This relationship combines DigiLinea’s pan regional VoIP platform linking the US Hispanic and Latin American markets with unlimited calling and local Latin American telephone numbers from across the region and Linksys’ strength in broadband networking solutions with a strong foot print throughout Latin America.

“We are happy to be working with Linksys as this relationship is very mutually beneficial as it plays to DigiLinea’s strength in providing VoIP service to the Latin American and US Hispanic markets, and our vertical integration into Latin America with local licensing, telephone numbers, fulfillment and payment options all of which are necessary to offer VoIP services region wide, but which are extremely difficult and time consuming to develop as each country is unique. Linksys provides great VoIP equipment and the high quality and reliability necessary to deploy on the DigiLinea pan regional VoIP network.” said Gregory Keough, CEO of DigiLinea. “This arrangement will allow consumers to purchase their Linksys PAP2 units pre configured with the DigiLinea VoIP service and local Latin American telephone number and unlimited calling plan making adopting VoIP much easier for the Latin American and US Hispanic markets which I think is great news for consumers and businesses region wide.”

“The fact that DigiLinea is a pan regional VoIP service provider with operations across Latin America and links into the US Hispanic community makes them a logical distribution partner as we expand our VoIP product deployment throughout the region,” said Marcelo Viteri, Linksys regional manager for Latin America. “DigiLinea’s operations in Latin America allow them to provide local telephone numbers and product configuration, payment, and delivery on a local level throughout the region, which should make the adoption of VoIP a more turnkey and easier endeavor region wide.”
