Google Earth - now with sounds

google_earth_logo.jpg

Google earth is one of the greatest tools when speaking of online maps and satellite images. You can visit remote places without leaving your home, you can search local businesses and much more.

Well it seems that in the future you will be able to even hear those remote places you’re visiting. This will be possible by using the 3,500 hours of recordings provided by Wild Sanctuary. The sounds were recorded by Bernie Krause over 40 years. The sound collection is carefully tagged and organized to make it easier for Google to bind different sounds with the geographic location. In the end you should be able to enjoy remote landscapes while admiring the sound of it too. Google never stops improving its services.
