How’s Pownce going?

pownce_start.jpg

Pownce was launched a while ago, and invites were sent to more and more people. Even I have received my invite and have tested what it’s up to. And it looks quite nice, Web 2.0 like, but I’m not looking to review Pownce now.

I know for a fact that everyone who has heard about Digg has asked himself at least once how much is Kevin Rose really making. Of course I can’t tell you that but I can tell that after the success he had with Digg and Revision3 investors are more than eager to put money into Pownce. And this is mainly (if not only) because Kevin Rose is behind it (not to mention that Kevin wasn’t the main player on this project).

Digg alone has raised $11.3 million from Greylock Partners. Revision3 totals in at $9 million, also from Greylock. It should be interesting to see what way Pownce will go and how it will battle Twitter. One thing that’s particularly interesting is that Twitter has the famous text system that somehow orients it to cell phones. I’m definitely curious of what Pownce might add to counter that.
