Ubuntu mobile – coming soon

Mobile devices with Internet access are a highly disputed market these days. We have mobile operating systems like Windows mobile, Symbian and the likes of it. Well lately it seems that Ubuntu, the popular Linux distro is planning to release later this year a mobile version. For now we know that Ubuntu is working along with Intel in order to provide a more economical ( as in power saving ) operating system to run on power saving hardware provided by Intel itself.

The Ubuntu team seems to be the choice of other hardware providers as well, Dell being a good example. The hardware giant is planning to use Ubuntu as a pre-installed operating system on its systems, but the matter is still up for discussion.

There is a great demand for highly flexible software as Ubuntu on the mobile devices market that require new ways to harvest the increasing processing power. In the same time associating with Intel is a good idea as power saving is also an important factor on this market.
