Etherfast was showing a while ago some Yahoo! Messenger alternatives — well now there’s no need for that anymore. Yahoo! is launching its very own webmessenger service! The service is for now on a ‘Coming soon’ status, but from the looks of their presentation video (found on the website) it looks quite promising.

Contacts and conversation history will be saved so you can access it from anywhere. Also communication will be possible with friends that are using Windows Live, so this feature will be available both with Yahoo! Messenger and WebMessenger. Plus the service will be available in English, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese and Vietnamese.

If you ask me this would be a wonderful alternative to Meebo and it will offer you flexibility when you are on the go.
