What is DASD?
DASD stands for Direct Access Storage Disk.
DASD is storage which is attached directly to a computer.
This differentiates DASD from storage which is attached to a network, such as Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN's).
PC DASD Standards
The current standards for personal computer DASD are ATA and SCSI.
