What are free e-mail services with encryption?

Many sites on the Internet will give you a free e-mail address. Very few of these free e-mail providers feature a built-in encryption capability. The Hushmail free e-mail service does feature that capability.

Hushmail offers fully encrypted free Web-based email service. Hushmail utilizes 2048-bit encryption and supports a number of encryption algorithms, including Twofish, Triple-DES, and RIPEMD160.

With Hushmail, users can access their address from any computer that has an internet connection, a web browser and Java.

Regular users can send attachments of up to 1.5 megabytes. Standard Hushmail accounts come with 2MB of storage space.

Hushmail does not ask for any personal information when you sign up for a free account.

For a more detailed explanation of Hushmail, read the Hush Encryption Engine White Paper.

Hushmail also offers additional paid services.
