Adding songs to your MP3 player depends a lot on the type of player that you have. However, for the most part, adding songs is relatively the same across the board. The first thing to understand about an MP3 player is that it is a storage device and therefore, when plugged into the computer, acts like a separate folder. With this understanding, adding songs to your MP3 player is much easier.
The first step is to plug your MP3 player into your computer. Locate the USB drive and plug the device in. When the computer recognizes the device, it'll alert you. If you need to install software on your computer first, it'll let you know. At this time, insert the CD and follow the instructions for installation. So long as your computer is running fine, installation should take no longer than a few moments.
Go to your start menu and click the computer tab. Look at the available drives. You'll see your C: drive and your D: drive. However, you'll also see other drives on there such as your DVD drive. When the MP3 player is plugged in, you'll see that folder appear as well. Look for this folder and double click on it. When it opens, look for a folder that is titled Music in some shape or form.
Look for your music folder on your computer. Where ever the music goes when you upload music from a CD or download is where you want to search. Open this up and look for the music that you want to add to your MP3 player. Drag and select all of the songs. With your MP3 folder open, drag the songs over to the player and then drop them in so that they transfer over.
Once the transfer is complete, remove the MP3 player from the computer after closing all the folders. Plug your head phones in and test to make sure that the songs transferred over. If they did, the transfer was good. If not, you might have added them to an incorrect folder or they are in a format that your MP3 player cannot support. Do a file conversion and try again.
