The home page of a web browser is the page that automatically loads when the web browser is loaded. So, if you set your home page to be Google.com and you open the browser the next day, the first page that will load is Google.com. Depending on the web browser and the computer, it might be automatically set for that computer’s company site or it might be set for one of the big search engines. Changing it allows you to personalize your web browser to cater to what you need.
To change your home page, load up your web browser. The tab that you’re going to be looking for at the top is Tools, Options, Settings, or something along those lines. What this section contains are the different parameters you have set up for your web browser. It determines the level of cookies you want, it determines the cache, how downloads work, and things like that. What it also includes is the home page.
Go to to that tab and then scroll toward the bottom and look for Internet Options or Options. Click that and you’ll be taken to where you can make the change. If the General tab loads, you’ve reached the part where you can enter your home page. If not, make sure you on the general tab. This tab includes information such as the homepage, any add-ons you have and things like that.
In the home page section, type in the URL that you want. If you want Google.com to load, type that in. If you want a different site to load, just type the URL in and then hit OK. Any site can be loaded, so you really can have any home page.
Once you’ve done this, reset the web browser. Open it up again and the new home page will load. If it doesn’t load, check to make sure you put the home page URL in properly. If you didn’t, fix it. If you did and it still won’t load, the site might be down or your web browser might have a fault on it. Try a different web browser to see if it works there.
