How to Publish an eBook

Publishing an eBook requires that you have an idea for the eBook and a converter to take it from being in word processor format into PDF format. With the PDF format, it is more difficult for people to steal your content Therefore, before even starting, make sure you can find some sort of a PDF converter. Different people have different preferences. If you don't mind spending $30, a good one is deskPDF professional. In the end, though, the decision is yours on what you're going to use.

The first step to writing and publishing an Ebook is the idea. What idea do you have that is going to be so amazing that someone is going to be willing to fork over some money for it? More importantly, what value are you going to offer to the reader that will ensure that they don't demand a refund. Once you found your topic, begin writing. Don't worry about length. Focus on providing a value to the reader. A common Internet trend is that people are becoming bored much quicker than they used to. Therefore, get your message across quickly and effectively.

Using the PDF converter, take the document and convert it into PDF format. Depending on the size, this will take a couple of moments. The next step is to fragment the PDF into multiple sections like chapters. This way, if someone finds one particular topic of interest, they can click a link and it will take them to that section rather than having to scroll through the entire book. This is especially beneficial when dealing with a very long Ebook with many different topics within.

Create a small JPG image to become the book cover. It should have something to do with the theme of your book in a book cover image. That means, make the image look like a hard cover book and on the cover, give it something that fits with your theme. If it is about dogs, include a picture of a dog and the title of the Ebook. People really do judge a book by its cover–both online and offline–so a good book cover is definitely beneficial.

Sell it or give it away. The publishing side of things is done, but you can set up a site and start selling the eBook right from there. Or, you can go through Amazon.com and sell from their site. They take a percentage, but at least there are a ton of customers who might be willing to buy.
