How to Work My SanDisk MP3 Player

SanDisk is a popular electronics manufacturer that has a number of MP3 players on the market, including the Sansa player product line. SanDisk players are designed to sync and update with a computer running the Windows Operating System. SanDisk players’ storage capacity range from 512MB up with many of the recent models being able to play color videos, pick up radio stations, and have an expansion slot for a flash memory card. The large storage capacity of the player coupled with the flash memory card capability have made the SanDisk player a true multi-media player although they are still sold under the MP-3 label.

How to Work the SanDisk MP3 Player

Step 1 – Ensure that the Windows computer meets the minimum specifications required in order to update and sync the SanDisk MP3 player. Windows XP is the minimum version of the OS supported by the player which also requires that Windows Media Player is installed on the computer. An older computer that does not support the USB 2.0 standard will cause updating videos on the player to take a significant amount of time.

Step 2 – Ensure that the battery icon located on the upper, right-hand side of the SanDisk player screen is full. The SanDisk player’s battery is recharged by connecting the device to the computer via the USB and will provide a visual indication of the recharging status.

Step 3 – Press the “Hold” switch at the top of the SanDisk player in the position where the “orange” tab is not visible and press the power button one time to turn the player on. The player’s thumbwheel will flash prior to the screen turning on. In order to turn the player off, press the power button for two seconds.

Step 4 – Press the power button for 15 seconds in order to reset the player in the event that a critical error occurs or to correct a frozen screen.

Step 5 – Connect the MP-3 player to the computer with the USB cable and double-click the SanDisk player icon that appears in the “My Computer” window. Open the “Music” folder to be loaded onto the device and drag the music into the device’s “Music” folder. The device will then load the music onto the SanDisk player.

Step 6 – Create a playlist in Windows Media Player if one is not already created. Select the “Sync Digital Media Files to This Device” menu button followed by “Set Up Sync.” Choose the “Personal Playlists” menu option in Windows Media Player and select the playlists that will be exported to the MP-3 player followed by the “Add” and “Finish” menu buttons to finish loading playlists to the player.
