HTC P3300
The HTC P3300 is one of the new mobile phone all in one units that fits in the category of pocket PC. This P3300 truly has it all and the features list would go on and on. The top features on the HTC P3300 is that it runs Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC, along with having GPS (TomTom Navigation), wifi capability, MP3 player, FM radio, GPRS, EDGE, on board mouse and a high quality 2.0 mega pixel digital camera.
First off, the design of the P3300 is flawless; this really is a great looking, sophisticated pocket PC. It is grey with aluminum on the sides and has a highly bright screen that works great in practically any lighting conditions. Sometimes it can be too bright and must be lowered. The onboard mouse, which is actually a trackball, is a terrific interface device that is easy to use. You can easily tell when it's activated, because it glows blue. The buttons on the front are extremely well designed and navigating through the device is a breeze.
I also liked using the Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC software. This software makes it easy to view Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. And you have the added feature of editing both Word and Excel files on the go.
The HTC P3300 also comes with many entertainment options, including the ability to download and play games, an FM radio that works when headphones are inserted (the headphone wires act as the antenna) and can play mp3 files along with WMA files. You can also play video on this device.
The HTC P3300 comes with decent amount of memory 64 MB RAM and 128 ROM, but can easily be upgraded using Transflash cards, which are Micro SD cards.
The Pros
- Delivers the Total Package- this is a winning device, has everything and performs well in all areas.
- Display- one of the best and brightest display screens I have seen.
- Looks Great- has a high quality look that is definitely sophisticated
- Onboard Mouse- works great and is easy to use
The Cons
- Could use more processing power- while it performs well, it only has a 200 MHz processor. It can easily use the 400 MHz processors that a few top pocket PC's use.
- Keyboard- no onboard keyboard
- Battery Life- while adequate, some juice would be appreciated.
The Final Word
Overall, this device is an all around winner and worth the money.
