HTC's Touch Diamond CDMA provides users with most of the standard features they expect from a smartphone, although some may feel stand out features are lacking. The Touch Diamond CDMA does provide a fast multimedia experience and surprisingly abundant photography options.
Phone Size and Appearance
An average size for a typical smartphone offering, the HTC Touch Diamond CDMA measures in at 4 x 2 x 0.6 inches. Weight is also fairly average for a phone in its class, at a respectable 4.1 oz. The device's “candybar” design is unimaginative but still attractive, with a prominent display screen and a sleek silhouette with rounded edges.
Display Dimensions and Features
The HTC Touch Diamond CDMA offers a 2.8 inch VGA LCD (Color TFT/TFD) touchscreen with a crisp resolution of 480 x 640 pixels and 18 bit colors. HTC follows in the footsteps of BlackBerry by offering adjustable text size. The touchscreen boasts of handwriting recognition software and HTC's proprietary TouchFLO 3D user-interface technology, which provides for perfect responses for your finger gestures.
A high-resolution 3 megapixel camera is included in the device. Photo-bug users will enjoy the myriad of advanced photography options provided by the on-board camera, including auto-focus, panorama, a self timer, spot metering functions, and brightness and white balance controls.

Productivity Capabilities
Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) support and included Windows Mobile Professional (Pocket PC) 6.1 Operating System fuel the Touch Diamond CDMA's built-in productivity options. In addition to the standard calculator, calendar, to-do list, and voice memo functions, the device offers an impressive 4GB of internal memory to support document creation and storage.
Multimedia Functions
The Touch Diamond CDMA's Qualcomm 7501A, 528 MHz, 32 MB ISM processor powers the device's broad multimedia offerings, which include the camera, media player and large full color display. Data transfer can be performed via USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
The device supports YouTube streaming video and various different music formats including MP3, AAC, WMA, and Windows Media Player 10.
Connectivity Options
The HTC Touch Diamond CDMA is a CDMA dual band (800/1900 MHz) phone and supports the 1xEVDO rev.A standard for 3G speeds of up to 3 Mbit/s.
Threaded view text messaging is supported and users can take advantage of time-saving features including T9 predictive text software and included text message templates. The HTC Touch Diamond CDMA supports a wide array of email options, including Outlook Mobile, HTML email, POP3, IMAP4, and attachments such as PDF and Microsoft Office.
The device's Bluetooth support includes many profiles, such as HSP, HFP 1.5, DUN, OPP, FTP, PBA, A2DP, AVRC, BPP 1.2, HID, and PAN version 2.0+EDR. The high-speed 2.0 miniUSB port allows users to connect and sync with their PCs. Users can access the Internet with the Touch Diamond CDMA's Opera Browser (plus RSS Reader).
The device is GPS ready and also features assisted GPS (aGPS) technology for enhanced performance.
Audio Capabilities
The HTC Touch Diamond CDMA supports real-music ringers. Users will be able to play ringtones in MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WAV, and AMR formats. Speakerphone capabilities are also included. Unfortunately, the Touch Diamond CDMA does not feature an FM radio or a headphone jack.
Battery Specifications
The device includes a 1340 mAh Li-ion battery and provides a decent 4.16 hours of talk time. Standby capability is 350 hours on a single charge.
