HTC Wing
As the latest update to the T-Mobile MDA line, the HTC Wing takes all the good things about previous releases and add some new enhancements that many subscribers will find useful. One of the more popular returning features is the large and bright display screen that is coupled with the slide out QWERTY keyboard that T-Mobile users have come to rely on a great deal. The keyboard has been enhanced a bit, with a newer soft touch finish. The screen now has touchscreen capability as well.
For connectivity, the Wing provides both Wi-fi and Bluetooth capability. The Wing runs on a 201 MHZ TI 850 OMAP CPU that is supported with 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB of RAM, providing ample space and function for data storage, retrieval, and downloading.
The camera is very functional as well, with a 2.0 megapixel capability and zoom feature included. Easy access to the Internet makes it easy to manage online mail, both sending and receiving. The new touchscreen function makes it easier to attach a document than ever. For a browser, the Wing introduces the use of Windows Mobile 6.0, which will make life a lot easier for many of the subscribers.
Pros
With the HTC Wing, you get:
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Connectivity
- 2.0 MP Camera with Zoom
- Speakerphone
- Touchscreen capability and improved keyboard
Cons
A few things to remember:
- Windows Mobile 6.0 might not set well with Apple users
- Phone may seem heavier to someone used to using a slim line model
- Keyboard still has a tendency to stick
Overall
The HTC Wing is a definite improvement over the MDA line and will no doubt find an audience among T-Mobile devotees. The use of Windows Mobile 6.0 might also lure away from clients from the competition.
