What is an Internet repeater?
An Internet repeater is a system which enables amateur (ham) radio users to talk to each other over the Internet, without the use of RF links, leased lines, or satellites.
Internet repeaters do this by using VoIP (Voice over IP) technology.
Internet Repeater Networks
There are several networks of these systems in existence. The most popular are:
IRLP runs under RedHat Linux. EchoLink and eQSO run under Microsoft Windows. There is also a Macintosh client available for EchoLink.
