192.168.2.1 is an IP address that is categorized as private. It falls within the IP address range of 192.168.0.0 through 192.168.255.255. This specific private IP address is the default IP for common home broadband routers which are sold under the brand name SMC and Belkin. The private IP address 192.168.2.1 is set as the default IP address at the factory. It should be noted that once you purchase either a SMC or Belkin broadband router which has 192.168.2.1 as the default, you can easily change it simply by accessing the network router's admin console.
