LG enV2
The LG enV2 is a sleek and slim device that on first glance looks more like a calculator than a cell phone. It was designed to replace the original enV and is slimmer. Although it looks like a traditional candy bar style phone, it opens up thanks to a hinge on its side, to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard designed to simplify text messaging. The interior of the phone also features the main screen, which is much larger than the front screen.
The LG enV2 was announced in March of 2008 as a dual band CDMA phone. This means that it can be used only inside of the United States and a few other places in the world. What you lose in worldwide mobility, you gain in speed. The LG enV2 takes advantage of 3G data transfer speeds over the EVDO rev.0 network, allowing you to send and receive photos, videos, and messages and browse the web at high speeds.
Measuring in at approximately four inches by two inches by a half an inch, the LG enV2 is an average sized device compared to other phones in the same category. It weighs 120 grams, making it around the same weight as its competitors as well.
Battery life on the LG enV2 is pretty good. Expect to get about five and a third hours of talk time or 520 hours of standby time on a single charge. The standby time is extremely impressive, though the talk time leaves something to be desired. With the phone’s heavy emphasis on texting, however, talk time should not be a problem for most users.
The internal main screen is a large 2.4 inches screen and can accommodate up to 320 by 240 pixels. It also supports 262k colors on screen at any given time. The external screen is also of relatively high quality, measuring in at 1.5 inches. It supports 160 by 64 pixels and 262k colors as well.
Built in to the rear of the phone is a 2.0 megapixel digital camera. It can take videos, and supports a ten times digital zoom.
Multimedia features are also well supported on the LG enV2. The device can play a number of video and audio formats and the phone itself comes equipped with dual stereo speakers. Memory is expandable via microSD cards.
