LG mobile phones are created by the fastest growing Korean manufacturer. LG is primarily known for its clamshell, flip style phones. While there are a few candy bar type phones, clamshell phones definitely dominate this manufacturer. LG phones include both CDMA and GSM phones; however, you will find that most LG mobile phones are based upon the CDMA platform. While this means that most LG phones work in the US, if you travel to Europe, you will not be able to use your phone, since Europe is on the GSM standard.
LG mobile phones are not as user friendly as Nokia or Motorola. For instance, LG phones do not allow the ability to customize ringtones. There is also no easy to use software for do it yourselfers. However, for those interested in personalizing their phone, LG does make a data cable that allows you to access third party companies such as Bitpim to buy products and services that can customize your phone. As far as quality and reliability go, LG does make high quality mobile phones and generally has a good reputation in the states, as well as around the world.
