Magnetic Water Treatment
It is common for those who receive hard water all over the world to attempt to find a plausible technique or treatment system to soften the water. Magnetic water treatment is a way to eliminate or reduce the water’s hardness. This technique is also referred to as Anti-scale Magnetic Treatment” (AMT).
Those who magnetically treat water claim that passing water through a strong magnetic field changes water molecules and eliminates the need to chemically soften water. These claims are quite controversial as they have not been proven scientifically.
How Does Magnetic Water Treatment Work?
The components that make up a system are not consistently defined in the magnetic water treatment industry. However, most systems use a sequence of magnets that force the water through alternating magnetized and non-magnetized regions of the system. More modern, alternating current water treatment devices mimic this action by using a single coil and frequencies that range between 100 and 1,000 Hz.
Is Magnetic Water Treatment Effective?
Most scientific studies find that there is no difference between water that the system has treated and water that it has not. Vendors of the product disagree and use testimonials and anecdotal evidence to support their claims. They do not, however, provide scientific evidence to support the utility of their systems. Some studies have found that under specific environmental conditions, magnetic water treatment may reduce calcium carbonate deposits. Unfortunately, this cannot be extended across all environmental conditions. In many of these cases, it is later discovered that the magnetic water treatment system was not responsible for the benefit realized. Instead, a change in the PH level of the water being treated was the reason for the build-up reduction.
- How Laser Skin Treatment Works
A laser skin treatment is a relatively new technology that surgeons have only recently begun using. It is when the surgeons utilize lasers (containing carbon dioxide) to vaporize the skin’s upper layers, consequently allowing a new layer of skin to form. The technique is commonly used to fine tune wrinkles and various face lines, especially [...]...
- How Water Cooling Works
Water cooling is one of the newer cooling systems available for computers with high-end cards and chips. This cooling system rests on the principle that water is a much better conductor of heat because of its high thermal conductivity and high specific heat. Water cooling systems for computers works much like the cooling system in [...]...
- Who Invented the Water Thermometer?
The water thermometer has been around for centuries, but not many people are aware of the origins of this instrument. The following is a brief synopsis of the origin and development of the water thermometer. Origins The first water thermometer was created during the 16th century. In the year 1593, Galileo Galilei did the existing [...]...
- Magnetic Levitation Vehicles
A magnetic levitating vehicle (MagLev) is a vehicle that uses a strong electromagnetic field to resist gravity and keep the vehicle floating out of the ground. The technical name is Electromagnetic suspension. The principle of the Electromagnetic suspension is to charge with the same pole the base of the vehicle and the rail with a [...]...
- Water-Based Bomb Inhibitors
Water-based bomb inhibitors are water-filled devices that are used to attenuate or weaken the effects of a bomb blast. Water is used as a bomb inhibitor for these devices as water has a relatively high mass and is relatively available in almost any area. Water-based bomb inhibitors are successful in reducing blast and fragmentation by [...]...
