Motorola KRZR K1

Motorola's KRZR K1 is Moto's most recent attempt to get in the slim-is-in bandwagon by designing the phone to be pretty slim. Although not impossibly thin, the KRZR K1 is still slim enough to fit into any pocket easily, with less need for careful sitting. Although the KRZR K1 is thicker than Motorola's RAZR V3 by 13 inches, it, however, makes up for it by being very narrow that it makes it difficult for big-fisted users to be able to comfortably operate the phone.

Some of Moto's KRZR K1 main features include an integrated 2 mega pixel camera with no flash but has a smooth 8x digital zoom, which means that it may be difficult to take pictures at night or in places that are poorly lit, a MicroSD (TransFlash) card slot for memory expansion, speakerphone, voice dialing, Bluetooth and music player, for your music needs. Moto's KRZR K1 mobile phone has a clamshell design, wherein if you flip it open, the phone will reveal Motorola's signature metal keypad which is actually backlit in blue in order to make dialing easier for the user. The keypad may look like one smooth surface, but is actually separated by tiny rubber stripes in between the keys. There are buttons on the side of the phone, making it easier to access certain functions, such as the phone's volume control, camera and speech buttons.

The phone's casing comes in two eye catching colors, namely, cosmic blue and silver sail, and has been coated with a toughened glass compound, which helps enhance the phone's design and overall look, as well as how the phone feels in the user's hands. The handset, measuring at 103 x 42 x 16 mm when closed, sports a tall, slim and elegant look to it, which helps in making the phone easier to hold and manage. When in the open position, the handset makes it easier for its user to make a call since the mouthpiece can be easily reached due to its design and position. The phone's external screen shows and alerts its subscribers of the time, date, status indicators, incoming calls and other functions even when the phone is in the closed position.

The KRZR K1's integrated music player supports most music formats, allowing its users to play their favorite songs and liven up their day, all without any problems since accessing and managing the KRZR K1's music player is relatively easy. The KRZR K1's MP3 players relatively function just the same as any MP3 player. The only difference between the two players is that the other one can only be accessed via the Audio menu, while the other via menu applications, which means that one of the applications cannot be used in the minimized version. Other features of KRZR K1 are its camera which offers a resolution of 2 mega pixels, which goes well with its 176 x 220 pixels internal screen maximum resolution, although the picture quality comes out as blurred and grainy. The KRZR K1 also sports a microSD memory card slot so its users can increase the phone's internal memory, making it possible to save more pictures as well as music files. Its battery is a Motorola BC50 3.7 Volt Lithium Ion Battery, which can generate of up to four days of use if used in a normal way. It also comes with preloaded games as well as some of the more basic features such as an easy to manage calendar and phonebook, multimedia and text messaging service, a handsfree speaker phone option, and a vibration alert which can either be set alone or with a ringtone.

Cons

Overall

Overall, Motorola's KRZR K1 is actually a pretty nice slim phone, but is not highly recommended, especially since most of its disadvantages overweigh its benefits. The Motorola KRZR K1 is more about the looks, so if you are looking for a phone that is slick-looking but does not have every bell and whistle that phones of this price range should have, then Moto's KRZR K1 is for you.
