What is a MySpace Background?
When you look at any web site, there is a background color, pattern or picture. The MySpace background is just that: the background picture, color, or pattern of your layout. There are some general backgrounds available when you create your profile on MySpace.com, but if you want to make your page more attractive, you will have to search elsewhere. There are many patterns, including hearts and stripes, animals or sports figures or scenes; most of these can be found through MySpace support sites.
When you choose a background from a given site, Pimp My Site, for example, you will see many backgrounds from which to choose from. Some of these include pictures of animals or sports figures. Then at the right hand side, you will see "Get the Code." You click on that and it tells you to enter it into the "About Me" section of your profile. Then, your background picture or pattern should appear on your profile page. This is just one source of backgrounds; there are many on the web and the codes for these are usually free.
Your background can be representative of your personality or some of your hobbies. It is important to choose a background that does not compete with the text on your page, or it will be difficult for visitors to read your information.
