What are MySpace Layouts?

When you enter MySpace.com, you have the option of logging in and creating your profile. When you do this, a layout is used to display the information that you enter. When people log in to see your profile, they will see the layout of your page. A MySpace layout is a page structured for the user's information to be displayed; a person or group can design a space.

The layout usually includes a title or header that a person or group chooses which may be a quote or words that describe their personality. It also includes a place for visitors to leave comments, a place for others to contact the MySpace user, and other options that user decides upon for their page. Graphics can be chosen by the user for their layout that will express their personality and facts telling about the person are organized on the page.

The MySpace user has control over their personal layout, in terms of color and graphics, and can either use a free layout or purchase one through one of the many MySpace support sites on the Web.

One site that is very helpful when designing a layout is MySpace Top Sites. This site provides links to sites on the web that provide free layouts for the user. When you use these sites to upgrade your layout, there will be free codes provided for many of the elements in your profile. For example, you may want to center your profile. If so, you copy the code into the "Books" section of your profile. Each time a code is needed for a layout change there are directions for how to input it into your MySpace page. A great place to locate codes on the web is MySpace Codes.
