What are MySpace Widgets?
MySpace widgets are online page toys that can be added to your MySpace profile. Widgets can be anything - from horoscopes which are updated daily to games, message boards, refrigerators that people can leave messages on, crystal balls, and any other toys or games out there that are available. They are silly things to be added to your profile. Usually they can be added anywhere you like - even in the 'About Me' or 'Books' section.
What are Widgets?
Widgets are just html coding. In some cases the codes continually receive information from their mother website where the widget is updated with the current horoscope, weather, etc.
Finding Widgets
Where you get the widget from is important, because some do carry spyware. Most are safe, but like anything, checking out the website first is always a good idea. Some of the sites that offer widgets can automatically add them to your MySpace profile so long as you're logged in to MySpace. This is a very quick and easy way to add Widgets. However, the widget may go somewhere on your page you do not want it to be. It could also cover something else - possibly another widget already on your page. You will not have a choice about where it is placed when adding it this way, but it does make adding very quick and easy with a lot less copying and pasting to do then.
Customizing Widgets
A lot of widgets are customizable. You can change the color, shape, and the way it runs words or sentences. That is what makes the widgets so cool - the ability to change the features on them to what you want in order to match with your MySpace page.

Inputting Widget on MySpace
Remember that when you have gone in to your profile, go to the edit profile link. From here you will be able to paste in the text that you copied from the widget website. Leaving spaces between widgets that are copied always helps; if you want to remove one it's a lot easier to find. The text can be placed in any of the text fields.
After you have checked everything [and carried out a preview] click on 'save profile' and your profile will be saved and updated. Now go to your profile again to make sure it all works the way you want it to.
