Nokia Mirage 2605
The Nokia Mirage 2605, offered by Verizon Wireless, is a simple yet slick cell phone with interchangeable covers, so the user can have different color options. Working off the CDMA network, it comes with a built in VGA camera, Bluetooth technology, and voice recognition dialing. There is also a speakerphone, ring-id, picture-id, a web browser and a 500 contact capacity phone book.
The phone's body is a flip top/clamshell design, and it's extremely slim and lightweight. The antenna is built in so there is no obnoxious excess hardware. All this makes the phone very easy to carry and slip into a pocket or purse very easily.
This simple phone does not boast a fancy camera, since VGA technology is only entry-level and is not known for its exceptional pictures, but if you're looking for a cell phone that takes quick snaps in bright light, it does the job.
Pros
- Inexpensive phone that's really worth its price
- Lightweight and small - this is advantageous because dropping it will not make it break into pieces so easily
- Comes with GPS capability, which is surprising for a basic phone such as the Nokia Mirage 2605
- Supports Bluetooth 2.0
Cons
- Call quality on the phone is not stellar; it tends to pick up background noise and sometimes voices can sound garbled.
- Camera is only VGA, so if this feature is important to you in a cell phone, you might want to steer clear.
- Screen is low resolution, but supports a very decent 262k colors
Overall
The Nokia Mirage 2605 is a good choice for younger cell phone users who need something they can text with, without all of the extra high bandwidth and need for a fuller keyboard.
