Null Modem Adapter
An adapter is a hardware device or software component that converts transmitted data from one presentation form to another. The data presentation can be, for example, a message sent between objects in an application or a packet sent through a network. A null modem adapter enables users to transform a normal serial cable into a null modem. It contains the necessary crosslinks between the signals. A null modem adapter converts any straight-through wired cable with connectors into a null modem "cross-wired" configuration. This configuration is suitable for many serial PC to PC and PC to printer applications.

- Null Modem Cable
A null modem cable will enable you to connect two computers together for serial communications. It is a particularly designed cable that permits anyone to connect two computers directly to each other via their communications ports called RS-232 ports. Serial communications with RS232 is one of the oldest and most widely spread communication methods in [...]...
- 9 to 25 Pin Serial Adapter Pinout
This adapter will enable you to connect a 25 pin male serial cable to a 9 pin female serial connector on your computer. 9 pin female connector 25 pin male connector 9-Pin to 25-Pin Adapter Pinout Signal 9-Pin 25-Pin Carrier Detect 1 8 Receive Data 2 3 Transmit Data 3 2 Data Terminal Ready 4 [...]...
- Cisco Cable
Cisco uses a proprietary cable pinout for their serial console cables. Note: Pinout or pin-out is a term used in electronics to describe how an electrical cable is wired, or the function of each wire (pin) in a connector. Given below are the pinout details for a Cisco cable. 9-pin Cisco Cable Cable Pinout Signal [...]...
- Parallel Printer Cable
This cable can be used to connect a parallel printer to the parallel port on a PC. The phrase parallel cable can be ambigous as it shelters numerous different specifications, not all of which are simple PC to printer type. The parallel port socket on a computer uses 25 pins. There are two types of [...]...
- RS232 Pinouts
RS-232 stands for Recommended Standard 232. It is a standard for serial binary data signals connecting between a Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) and a Data Circuit-terminating Equipment (DCE). It is widely implemented in computer serial ports communication - roadmap for the way devices speak to each other using serial ports. RS-232 is radically identical to [...]...
