How to Configure a Proxy in a Web Browser

Configure a Web Proxy in Internet Explorer

  1. Select a proxy from one of these recommended anonymous proxy lists.
  2. Note the IP address and that proxy server’s port number.
  3. Open Internet Explorer.
  4. Open the menu.
  5. Select.
  6. Click the tab.
  7. Click the button.
  8. Check the box next to “Use a proxy server for your LAN.”
  9. Enter the IP address of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the “Address” box.
  10. Enter the port number of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the “Port” box.
  11. Click the button.

Configure a Web Proxy in Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select a proxy from one of these recommended anonymous proxy lists.
  2. Note that proxy server’s IP address and port number.
  3. Open Firefox.
  4. Open the menu.
  5. Select.
  6. Click the button.
  7. Check.
  8. Enter the IP address of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the “HTTP Proxy:” box.
  9. Enter the port number of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the corresponding “Port:” box.
  10. Enter the IP address of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the “SSL Proxy:” box.
  11. Enter the port number of the proxy selected in Step 1 into the corresponding “Port:” box.
  12. Click the button.
  13. Click the button.
