How do I Receive Podcasts?
To set up and listen to a podcast:
- Go to DopplerRadio.net
- On the right hand side of the pages is a download bar with the most recent Doppler program versions on it. Click on the one you'd like to download;
- Once it is on your computer, double-click on the Doppler set-up, and follow the set up instructions;
- After Doppler is fully set up, log on to the web with your favorite browser, and go to Podcast Alley. There, on the left hand side of the page, you can use the pull-down menu and choose the particular Podcast Genre you are interested in.
- Just below the Podcast Genre list {in the center column}; you'll discover a lengthy list of podcasts in the interest category {genre} you've selected. As you scroll down this list, click some titles that grab your interest to read a brief description of what they are about.
- When you've found a podcast that you are most interested in, click on "subscribed" - just below the {expanded} explanation, which will take you to another page that displays the podcast feed URL in a small box;
- Copy the URL shown in that box, and maximize your Doppler screen;
- On the bottom, right side of the Doppler window, choose "add feed.";
- In the graphical user interface that opens up, paste your URL into the line that says "URL." and click on "add feed";
- You will then see Doppler go out and grab your podcasts, as you watch the feed status start to climb;
- Great time for a break, as this can take awhile;
- When the feed is done, go to where it is that you stash your music files and click on the icon with the name of the podcast you wish to enjoy;
- Your default audio player {i.e. Real Player or Windows Media Player} should open it and begin playing, just like any other sound file.
