Samsung Omnia i910
The Samsung Omnia i910 has tons of great features and is one of the nicest candy bar touch screen phones available today. It is a Windows mobile smart phone with a built in 5 megapixel digital camera. Perhaps the most unique feature of this phone is the new Touch Whiz interface. This new technology allows users to drag and drop widgets (aka shortcuts) onto the main screen so they can customize what they want to do and where it will show up on the screen for easy access. In addition, there are tons of multimedia features and the phone is made of a nice solid construction with bright screen.
Pros
- The 5 MP camera comes with a host of features including LED flash, panorama, face detection and smile detection
- A number of audio/video formats are supported for playback
- Great Wi-Fi and 3G performance
Cons
- The widgets cannot be customized, so while you can drag and drop what’s available, currently you cannot add or create your own new ones.
- There are a few small quirks in the phone’s design, such as the memory slot being located behind the battery.
- Currently the price tag on the phone is rather hefty and is upwards of $600, but should go down in time.
Overall
If you’re willing to shell out the big bucks, the Samsung Omnia i910 is well worth it. This phone has vibrations that let you know you’re typing on the touch keys and gives it a much more realistic feel. The screen also knows when the phone has been turned on its side, and will rotate from portrait to landscape and back again. The phone also lets you adjust the sensitivity of the keys and screen so you can customize the way it feels. All in all, this is a sleek and extremely good-looking phone that is built well and made to last.
