The Samsung U430 from Verizon Wireless is the phone that succeeds the Samsung SCH-U410. If you travel often, the VZ Navigator is a feature that you will not want to be without. The Navigator allows you to see a variety of maps in order to locate specific addresses and destinations. The VZ Navigator includes a turn-by-turn navigation system that gives you audible directions to addresses throughout the country. Another Location Based Service included in the Samsung U430 is Chaperone.

A number of Bluetooth profiles are supported by the Samsung U430, including serial port, handsfree, dial-up networking, mono headset and object push for vCard only. With the Samsung U430 you can choose the color, style and size of the font you wish to use to send text messages.

The Samsung U430 works on the CDMA 800/1900 network and it features an internal antenna and a five-way keypad. The battery type is a 1000 mAh Li-ion. The talk time is five hours, and the standby time 336 minutes.

Pros

Cons

This phone lacks the bells and whistles of the more advanced models, like expandable memory, MP3 player and Wi-Fi.

Overall

The Samsung U430 has some very positive points but it is lacking in many areas as well. If you travel for work or for pleasure, you will appreciate the assistance that the VZ Navigator can bring your way. However if you are looking for lots of bells and whistles, you’d be better off looking for something else.
