Sanyo M1
The Sanyo M1 is a high end phone that comes complete with every feature that you need.
The Sanyo M1 is a good looking, thin clamshell style phone with a built in internal antenna. This phone is considered the first high end phone made by Sanyo and they add a lot of features that are not only convenient, but extremely practical. For instance, this phone sports lots of multimedia functionality including a 2 mega pixel camera and an MP3 player. Unlike most phones, the Sanyo M1 comes already equipped with 1 GB of onboard memory, this way you don't need to go out and purchase separate memory cards or worry about having enough memory on board. Add to the mix stereo Bluetooth, super fast EVDO high speed data communications and a QVGA display and the phone offers much more than most phones.
The 2 mega pixel camera worked great and it includes auto focus so you can always take decent pictures, viewing your photos is a breeze on the QVGA display, the internal display offers brilliant colors and is very bright even in sunlit conditions.
The MP3 player is perfect for my listening habits. While I like to have music with me on the go, I am not into the whole IPod culture. This phone has plenty of memory onboard (1GB) for me to save music that I am currently listening to and the external music controls make it really easy to choose my music, even when my phone is deep inside my pocket.
I should also mention that the high speed data communications make it easy to surf the web. Don't expect this phone to surf the web like you are on your home computer, but if you need to locate a map (Google Maps) or would like to visit Myspace mobile, it does the job.
Pros
- User interface is very easy to use and navigating menus is a breeze
- High quality reception and volume
- Onboard memory (1 GB) is a major plus
- Digital Camera worked great
- Music player delivers convenience and performance
- Extra features such as EVDO and stereo Bluetooth worked well
Cons
- Battery life could be better, but expect to use more juice when running apps such as Google Maps and the MP3 player
- The phone froze up on me once or twice when I was surfing the web, but for the most part works well
Overall
A nice phone from Sanyo that delivers lots of features that are practical and easy to use.
