The UTStarcom PCS-1450 / CDM-1450 is a CDMA network phone that is capable of making calls – and that's about it. Think of it as the bargain phone for providers like Virgin Mobile in the United States. The features are slim on this cheap phone, but if all you are looking for is a somewhat stylish device that you can use to talk to your family and friends with, then you're in the right place.
Unlike so many other modern CDMA phones, the UTStarcom PCS-1450 / CDM-1450 is single band and has no 3G support to speak of. That's fine, though, because this phone's market will never use anything like high speed downloading and uploading anyway, so no loss there.
The UTStarcom PCS-1450 / CDM-1450 is pretty small in size, measuring in at approximately four and a half inches by two inches by half an inch and it weighs only seventy grams. This makes it perfect for use as a spare phone that you can carry with you in case of an emergency or as a backup if you lose your current phone. The battery life on the UTStarcom PCS-1450 / CDM-1450 comes to a decent but not especially good four and a half hours of talk time and two hundred and eighty hours of standby time.
Aside from the respectable battery life and the dirt-cheap price of the UTStarcom PCS-1450 / CDM-1450, there isn't much else to write home about as far as features are concerned. The LCD screen only has 128 pixels by 160 pixels and sixty five thousand colors. The built in digital camera only provides 0.3 Megapixels of resolution. And although there is Bluetooth (only 1.1) and GPS, there is nothing else to discuss in the features category.
