Video streaming is a process in which video is sent over the Internet from the creator to the receiver continuously. In other words, one person creates a video and as it is recording, the video is sent over the Internet for other people to watch. Video streaming is live recording and viewing of video.
How Video Streaming Works
To stream a video, you need to have a video camera and a connect to the Internet. To begin with, connect the video camera to the computer. Open up a live streaming site. The top video streaming websites on the Internet are LiveStream.com and Justin.tv. These are great ones to use because they have a large bandwidth and storage size which allows for smooth video streaming and, more importantly, a consistent stream of video for multiple users.
Once you have set up the account on the video streaming website, it’s time to get people to sign in and watch. Video streaming is useless without people watching; therefore, give people your individual LiveStream or Justin.tv username so that they can find and follow the video that you stream. For the most part, these streaming sites have free accounts, but they include occasional ads to cover the costs. If you begin to get a lot of followers, there are paid packages with a monthly bill; however, these also allow you to stream your own ads.
With the camera plugged in and the account set up on a video streaming website, you can begin recording and streaming. Turn the camera toward whomever is being recorded and then activate streaming on the website. Once that activates and the camera is on, people watching the video will see it on their screen. So long as the Internet connection stays active and the video doesn’t get disconnected, the people on the other side of the video stream will continue to see the video.
Once the streaming is done, disconnect the live streaming first. Once no one can see what’s going into the camera, disconnect the camera. Finally, shut everything down and you’ll have had a successful video stream.
