What is WideSky?
WideSky was an initiative from EMC to get its proprietary management software to run on other vendors' storage systems.
WideSky technology is integral to EMC's ControlCenter family of storage management products.
WideSky is open to software developers via the EMC Developers Program.
In late 2003, EMC dropped support for WideSky in favor of a the industry standard: Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S).
