What is Web Rank?

Web Rank, is a number assigned by Yahoo which represents to relative importance of a web page.

The Web Rank for a web page can vary between 1 and 10.

Web Rank is assigned to individual web pages, not to web sites.

A higher Web Rank number will help you to score better in your SERPS, which will bring more visitors to your web page.

Web Rank is calculated using a complex secret formula which seems to be under constant change.

In general, the more web pages that link to your web page, the higher the Web Rank of your page will be.

No one outside of a small group of Yahoo employees really understands the Web Rank algorithm. Others who claim to fully understand the current incarnation of the Web Rank algorithm are either deluding themselves or attempting to fool you.

Web Rank was recently in Beta. The Beta period is currently closed.

When Web Rank becomes officially available, you will be able to view the Web Rank of a page by using the Yahoo Companion Toolbar.

The current version of the Yahoo Companion Toolbar will not show Web Rank.

You can also view Yahoo WebRank using the Yahoo Web Rank Checking Tool provided by Digital Point Systems.
