Subscribe to get automatic notification of new tweets as soon as they happen. This feature sends the post straight to a smart phone without visiting Twitter obsessively throughout the day. You do not want to seem too eager or available by immediately replying to every single update. If they post something thoughtful, do not be afraid to retweet it if it seems relevant to your own audience. It is easy to abuse this feature and become annoying to your followers so be selective. In addition, a favorite is a great way to show agreement with a strong opinion before you are actually following the person. This gets a brief moment of appreciation and attention that hopefully makes a good impression.
