7. Weather the Storm
One of the more difficult, but very rewarding, shots you can take with an iPhone is a rainy weather shot. The biggest mistake that photographers tend to make, though, is trying to capture as many minute details of the composition in one shot. Keep in mind, that for all the technology that the iPhone camera possesses, it’s still not equipped to manipulate lighting, shadows and other elements as well as a DSLR can.
Here’s a trick: Instead of aiming for the rain itself, focus on the puddles or other, lower shots. You may have to tweak the focus here and there, but the reflective surfaces of puddles will ultimately give you more image and light sources to work with. This, in turn, maximizes your chances of getting a spectacular shot while in the pouring rain.
