TOSLINK uses a red visible-light LED to transmit SPDIF data.
TOSLINK was originally developed by Toshiba.
TOSLINK Connectors
The standard TOSLINK connector is a square connector known as the JIS F05.
A newer connector, the MiniPlug, is becoming more common for TOSLINK.
