One of the biggest strides in modern communication has been the invention and implementation of MMS. MMS, or Multimedia Messaging Service, is the ability of a mobile phone to send and receive text messages, pictures, and videos to and from other mobile phones. MMS has brought millions of people closer together and interwoven society as a whole through its nearly instantaneous messaging. While almost everyone can obtain MMS on their mobile phone, some users may not understand what it is, how to use it, or how to get it. This article will clear up some of these misunderstandings by listing the MMS plans from some of the most popular mobile phone companies.
Check With Service Provider
Generally, MMS is already available on any modern cell phone. All the user has to do is choose an MMS plan and activate it on his/her phone. If the user already has a cell phone plan, the first thing he/she needs to do to activate MMS is call the service provider that he/she is already using and ask about their MMS plans. The company will explain the types of MMS plans that they offer and direct the user in setting it up on his/her phone. If the user does not already have a cell phone plan, however, he/she should check out the MMS plans that various service providers offer. The following is a list of those plans.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile has a variety of cell phone plans that range from a 2 year contract to prepaid plans. For prepaid plans, T-Mobile offers two separate ways to receive MMS. One plan provides the user with unlimited MMS for $15 per month plus 10 cents per minute while the other provides the user with unlimited MMS and calling for $50 per month. There are also a variety of individual and family plans but they all include unlimited texting. Without a specific plan, text messages sent and received within the country are 20 cents each.
Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless has the same type of system as T-Mobile and offers prepaid, individual, and family plans. However, Verizon Wireless' prepaid plans are not ergonomic at all and most charge a daily access fee while the customer is still charged for every call and text. Text messages in these plans range between 1 cent for the $4 daily access fee and 20 cents for the basic plan.
Virgin Mobile
Virgin Mobile is entirely centered around the idea of prepaid plans. In fact, none of Virgin Mobile's plans include contracts of any kind. Virgin Mobile has changed dramatically over the last few months and now includes three easy plans that all include unlimited MMS. For $25 per month, the user receives unlimited MMS (text messaging, email, data, and web) plus 300 anytime minutes. For $40 per month, the user receives unlimited MMS plus 1200 anytime minutes. Finally, for $60 per month, the user receives unlimited MMS plus unlimited anytime minutes.
Sprint
Sprint has about a dozen different plans but the major ones that include MMS are the Everything Messaging, Everything Messaging Family, Everything Data, Everything Data Family, Simply Everything, and Simply Everything Family plans. Each of these plans only differ from each other slightly and the cheapest plan is around $50. The best plans are most likely the Everything Messaging and the Simply Everything plans. Everything Messaging provides the user with unlimited MMS (text messaging, picture messaging, and video messaging), unlimited Mobile to Mobile, Nights & Weekends starting at 7 PM, and 450 minutes for $50. Simply Everything provides the user with unlimited texting messaging, web, data, email, radio, video, GPS, and unlimited anytime minutes for $100.
Boost Mobile
Boost Mobile is built upon the principle that cell phone plans should be unlimited. Boost Mobile includes unlimited text messaging, web, picture messaging, audio/video messaging, walkie talkie, IM, email, and 411 for $50 per month. Users can even take advantage of free outgoing international text messages (10 cents to receive) or pay an additional $10 per month to get unlimited outgoing and incoming text messaging. Boost Mobile even includes unlimited calling to select places in Mexico and Canada.
Metro PCS
Metro PCS tops all of these plans as it only charges users $40 per month in exchange for unlimited talk, text messaging, and web. Of course, plans don't stop there as users can pay $60 per month and receive unlimited international long distance calling, email access, GPS, IM, MetroNavigator, MetroChatLink, directory assistance, Pocket Express, Screen-It, international text messaging, short codes and alerts, web access, picture messaging, text messaging, nationwide coverage, nationwide long distance, and unlimited local calling.
