iDEN (Integrated Dispatch Enhanced Network) is a TDMA trunked radio system which is used for mobile telephony.

iDEN uses Motorola's VSELP (Vector Sum Excited Linear Prediction) system for voice compression, which enables iDEN to fit 6 voice conversations into one 25Khz channel.

iDEN (Integrated Dispatch Enhanced Network) was developed by Nextel and Motorola.

iDEN is sometimes referred to as a ESMR (Enhanced Specialized Mobile Radio) System.

iDEN Network Operators

Nextel operates an iDEN network in the United States.
