8. Most internet traffic is mobile
Thanks to the emergence of smartphones and tablets more and more people are accessing the internet from mobile devices, but most of them are actually just getting on social networking services like Facebook and Twitter which themselves take up a lot of internet traffic in numbers.
According to a recent comScore report 60% of all that internet traffic is coming from mobile devices. Note though that this refers to the number of people visiting, not the number of bytes sent which is bound to be a lot lower on mobile.
