    Though both geeks and nerds are commonly shown as intellectuals with a strong focus in math and science, they are normally depicted as taking up careers in different parts of each spectrum. For example, geeks tend to be shown as people who have strong interests in areas where both technology and art coincide such as game and graphic designers (65% of video game designers identify as geeks) whereas nerds tend to be depicted as engineers and programmers. Nerds and geeks may both be interested in concepts such as inventing or other sciences. Both stereotypes, however, tend to be viewed as individuals who not only end up being successful.
