CodeSchool.com is probably the best and the most fun programming education web site I’ve tried. Each course is an experience in and of itself with an unique design that seems to give a language you’re learning its own special character. Each course contains fun and witty videos explaining what’s what on the current subject, and then allows you to use what you’ve just learned by writing some code yourself, in a helpful and cool user interface.
CodeSchool.com has many courses to choose from. It’s not all completely free, but you can learn a lot just with the free material available, and that may in fact be enough to get you hooked to pay if you really want to dig in. They also have “paths”, which are sets of multiple courses around a single language or platform. When you finish a given path then you’ve basically acquired a complete skill.
