  • 10 Ways Facebook Subtly Changes Your Behavior

    Facebook in the dark

    10. You’ve experienced the Facebook coma

There’s something known as a Facebook coma. How do you recognize when it happens to you? Well, if you all of a sudden realize that you’ve just spent too many hours just scrolling through your news feed, liking random stuff, making random comments, all without even realizing it’s been so many hours that passed, you’re probably in a Facebook coma. You were saturated by all those little jolts of reward you get from everything that happens on Facebook, and overdosed to the point of losing awareness of what you’re doing, when, and why.

You could also say that you were just in a “flow state”, if you think that time was actually well spent. Your call.

Well said. I don’t like the connotation of stalking as well. People post things publicly, it’s fair game, anyone can read it.
