By avoiding using the vibrate option for alerts on the phone, you can improve your phone’s battery performance. Most mobile phones are designed to rotate a small weight within the phone to make the entire device shake when called which takes significantly more power than the ringtone. One popular alternative is to use the silent mode on the phone and keep a visual eye on the device to see when new calls or messages are received that require your attention.
